Indoor and Outdoor  Wireless Networks

Davis-Marrin has been doing media relations and tech communications for Wi-Fi and wireless networking since 1994. We know the technology and we know the editors and analysts.

Even better, they know us, like us and most importantly, they trust us.

We worked with Agere Systems to successfully launch the ORiNOCO brand worldwide.

We worked with Proxim to successfully promote their entire wireless LAN and wireless WAN product lines. This includes 802.11a, 802.11b, 802.11g as well as a variety of indoor and outdoor point to point and point to multi-point products.

We worked with Wi-LAN to promote their lines of proprietary, OFDM and WiMAX outdoor wireless networks and technologies.

In addition, we can help with technical writing, case studies and web site content creation. We wrote much of the Wi-Fi Alliance's web site at www.wi-fi.org

Consumer and Business Electronics

Video & Digital Imaging

Davis-Marrin can provide both PR and technical expertise regarding camcorders, digital cameras, digital multimedia products and software, computer peripherals and consumer and office electronics.

This includes hardware, software and related internet services.

We helped Sarnoff launch two new products for end users - VideoBrush for creating wide format panoramic images from digital image files and e-Vue, a maker of MPEG-4 imaging tools.

We also were instrumental in launching the first wireless networking products for the home - the well known and famous Lucent Technologies WaveLAN as well as its next generation ORiNOCO products.

This involved a great deal of education and industry interaction, convincing home users and enterprise that not only was wireless networking effective and secure, but that it worked, was easy to install and was cost effective.

These campaigns encompassed numerous product launches, extensive testing and review cycles with magazines like PC World, PC Magazine and Network World, and the writing of press releases, white papers, case studies and technical notes.

Davis-Marrin was also instrumental in launching various consumer Internet service oriented web sites such as CallWave, a leader in Internet telecom services, ClickMovie, an innovator in video on demand and Internet delivered video & multimedia content.

We launched LiveWave and Obvious Technology, developers of Internet video hardware and software for entertainment, education and security.

We have also worked with muvee Inc., out of Singapore and helped them to popularize "autoProducer", their automatic video editing technology worldwide.

Other consumer hardware clients have included Accordance Systems, which recently launched an affordable and easy to use RAID system based on the new Serial ATA technology for consumers and small businesses who need an effective storage solution or a high performance multimedia production storage and playback solution. We also launched a unique video device for presenters and home theater use for OTC Wireless that combined state of the art video and wireless networking technologies.

We worked with Pearl Technologies to help launch their local ISP, broadband services and electronic PBX business in the San Diego area.

Other consumer expertise has encompassed the areas of IP phones, consumer and business storage devices, USB and I/O devices, cellular telecom, online back-up, Internet access, etc.

One of our principles, Mark Shapiro, is currently a contributing editor for several major national magazines and specializes in writing about consumer technologies, especially video and imaging - camcorders, computers and digital still cameras.

In addition, we can help with technical writing, case studies and web site content creation.
